The Piqua (O.) Helmet announces the death, on the 14th inst., of Mrs. Martha V. Steadman at that place, in her 26th year. Mrs. S. was formerly a resident of this city. The Helmet thus speaks of Mrs. Steadman.

“The deceased was a faithful member of the Baptist Church, and an earnest Christian woman. Her hope in Christ supported her through her long illness, and enabled her to triumph in the closing hour of life. She trusted the Savior in life and when death came, He was there to support and comfort her, and she could say with the Psalmist: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me; thy rod and they staff they comfort me.” So quietly she fell asleep in Jesus. -s
